Pro Dom: What it is and isn’t

Woman with cropJust like with anything with ‘Pro’ attached to it, there are differences between a Hobbyist Dom and a Pro Dom.  A Hobbyist can get away with just about anything when they play with a partner.  A Pro has to keep the law in mind for most of their actions, and some inactions.  When you pay someone for something, you expect to get what you want, but unlike many professions, a Pro-Dom’s services can vary greatly from State to State, even town to town.  A Pro-Dom is not a prostitute, even though many consider themselves Sex Workers.  Do not go to a Pro-Dom thinking that you will be getting fucked in any way, other than in your mind.  Most of the Pro’s I know will not allow sexual contact, many will have you put in an anal plug before coming into the dungeon, if you wish to have one, and will never touch it once it is in.  This is because of the slippery slope of legalities, and the potential for entrapment.  Do not go to a Pro-Dom if you think you are going to get your rocks off.

Pros are also not therapists, though many people use them as such.  From crop aided physical training to letting the emotions out that you have bottled up, a Pro-Dom can help you work on things that some therapists may not be able to touch.  Keep in mind that she is there to beat you and help your fantasies.  Do not unload on her as if there were a Freudian couch, unless that is the scene you need.  Many Pro-Doms do know kink-friendly therapists and councilors, if the need does arise.

A Professional Dominant is a person.  I will state this multiple times, but I have to make sure you understand that there is life for most Pro-Doms outside of the dungeon.  There are families and laundry and going to the gym.  Having the job of Pro-Dom is one of the most titillating out there, but it is just that, a job.  Most Professionals will have their own limits, do not try to push them as most Doms out there have enough experience to be able to just walk away from a potential client if they do not feel right about the session.

A Pro-Dom is a business person.  They create flow of capital, and help the local economy.  They often hold business licenses and pay taxes on their business income.  A Professional Dominant looks for networking opportunities to bring in new clients, just like any professional service.

A Professional Dominant is not your girlfriend.  She will not do things for you just because she likes you.  If she likes you, she will schedule you for another session.  She will be there when you arrange a meeting because it is her job.  Do not expect her to do things for free.  She provides a negotiated service which you are paying for, just like any professional you would go to.

Keep in mind that you are searching out someone who has experience, and have had experiences, to help you fulfill your fantasy.

Be a good boy when looking for your Pro Dom and I just may see you at the next business breakfast.
